Drugs, guns, sex, and country-western: this ain't your daddy's night at the theater. Something like the love-child of Sam Shepard and Quentin Tarantino, "Killer Joe" lures you with pitch black humor into the trailer-trash world of a greedy and vindictive Texan clan desperate enough to murder their mother for her insurance policy. Unable to pull off the dirty deed themselves, they hire a contract killer who sinks his claws into their young daughter and sends their plan spiraling out of control. In his first play, Pulitzer Prize-winner Tracy Letts pushes Southern Gothic to a pulpy, shocking extreme, creating a visceral experience that builds tension to a jaw-dropping, hilariously depraved climax.

Austin Examiner: "With action, tension and humor on display, it's as memorable an experience as you're going to find on stage."

New York Times: "A portrait of a purely American world so numbed-out that carnage fits comfortably into the everyday domestic landscape."

Directed by Sean Mewshaw. Starring Brent Askari, Shannon Campbell, Brian Chamberlain, Christopher Reiling, and Casey Turner. Designed by Colin Sullivan-Stevens.
